Helping students prepare with dual enrollment
Louisiana State University
LSU’s College Readiness Program for math offers a dual enrollment option in which high school students earn credit for both an LSU course and a high school course at the same time. When the program began in 2010 they were partnering with 3 local high schools, with an enrollment of 31 students. By Spring 2021, the program has grown to include 70 high schools and over 2,000 students each year.

Programs bolster ND college prep for math, English
North Dakota
North Dakota’s State School Superintendent, Kirsten Baesler, identified two high school instructional programs that can save time and money for students who plan to attend a North Dakota college after they graduate from high school. The programs, College Ready English and Math (CREAM) and College Lab for English and Math (CLEM), both target high school seniors to ensure students are well prepared to take English and math classes for credit during their freshman year at a North Dakota college, instead of paying for non-credit remediation classes.

Hennepin Technical College summer enrichment program seeks to close achievement gaps

Students in Hennepin Technical College’s 6-week summer enrichment program using ACCUPLACER®//MyLab Foundational Skills® as the primary courseware achieved skills gains across the board in reading, writing, and math as measured by diagnostic pre- and post-tests. Among students surveyed, 96% responded that they were very satisfied or extremely satisfied with the summer enrichment program.

Controlled Study of MathXL for School implementation helps administrators choose technology
Sherwood Middle School and Louisiana State University's College Readiness Program
Sherwood Middle School teacher Darlene Ford taught two of her four sections of Algebra 1 using Pearson’s MathXL for School, and two sections using another online learning program. After seeing a gain in scores, Sherwood Middle School administration selected MathXL for all of its Algebra I students. The administration reported that MathXL offered more benefits, including accessibility from home, accessibility by parents, insights into student behavior, and defensible grading.
