Our qualifications ease the teaching load

With International GCSE sciences at single, double or triple award, there is a science route for everyone. All scientists can be taught together, and with clear use of Command words used at the start of each specification point, teachers can see the depth of understanding needed at every point on the syllabus.

Pearson’s Assessment Objectives are linked to those found at A Level to support progression to the next stage of leaning. What’s more, we test AO3 (Experimental Skills) throughout the Pearson papers – the integration of practical and theory develops a more holistic understanding of the content, making the jump to A Level a smoother transition.

An International GCSE that works for students, too!

The full range of grades is available to all students, and our single award can serve as a fall-back from the double award where necessary.

Students tell us that having one paper per subject on the single and double award makes it easier to plan focused revision.

We design our exam papers in a ‘ramped’ approach, with questions increasing in demand, then dropping down in difficulty for the start of the next question. The questions are grouped around topics to give students more thinking time, which can lead to breakthroughs as they answer the set.

Our exam papers are praised for their consistency and reliability, and we require students to sit fewer papers than other exam boards
